Box Score LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The Felician University women's lacrosse team could not break through on the scoreboard in a 15-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to host Georgian Court University on Saturday morning on the GCU campus.
Freshman goalkeeper Megan Euler (Manchester, N.J.) was credited with five saves and four ground balls for Felician (0-3, 0-1 CACC), which was playing its 2017 CACC opener.
Georgian Court (3-6, 2-0) tallied twice in the first minute and 38 seconds of game action. Halfway through the opening period, the hosts led, 5-0, and an Arianna Quinlan (Delran, N.J.) score with 0:11 to play allowed the Lions to enter halftime with a 10-0 edge. GCU featured five different second-period goal scorers.
The Lions owned a 29-7 shot advantage for the day. Felician came up empty on three free-position attempts, while GCU converted on all three of theirs. Freshman Andrea Hill (Monroe, N.Y.) paced the Golden Falcons defensively with four ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Quinlan and sophomore Samantha Fernandez (Toms River, N.J.) led Georgian Court with three goals apiece. Quinland added two assists for a team-high five points, and also caused four turnovers.
Felician will play the first home game in the history of its program on Wed., Mar. 29, against Dominican (N.Y.) College at 7 p.m. at the Lyndhurst Recreation Complex.
