Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

BENSALEM, Pa. – Felician University lost both ends of its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference softball doubleheader to host Holy Family University, 11-3 and 3-0, on Friday afternoon at Bensalem High School. Holy Family (25-17, 18-6) is the second-place team in the CACC.

Felician (20-25, 11-13) continues to be one of seven CACC softball teams jockeying for four available playoff positions. Friday's two losses dropped the Golden Falcons from a four-way tie for fifth place into a three-way tie for eighth. The top eight teams at season's end advance to the conference tournament.

Felician has two games remaining, a doubleheader at Chestnut Hill College at noon on Saturday. The Golden Falcons' playoff fate may not be decided until Sunday, when other league make-up games will be contested.

Friday's opening game featured three lead changes in the first three innings. Felician sophomore Racquel Manzo (Whittier, Calif.) opened the scoring with a solo home run to start the top of the second, but the Tigers answered when sophomore Olivia Nolan (Shoreline, Wash.) wrapped a two-run shot inside the left field foul pole in the bottom half.

The Golden Falcons went back on top with a pair of runs in the third. Senior Jackie Duenas (Riverside, Calif.) who had walked with one out, eventually scored on an HFU fielding error, and Manzo followed with a sacrifice fly. The Tigers, however, put their first three runners on base in the home half of the third, taking the lead for good by plating three runs on four hits.

Felician was held off the scoreboard the rest of the day, and was limited to three hits for the game. HFU rallied for five runs on seven hits in the fifth inning, then ended the game on Brianna Scotto's (West Babylon, N.Y.) RBI single with one out in the sixth. Scotto finished 3 for 4 with three RBI as part of the Tigers' 14-hit attack.

The Golden Falcons fell victim to a five-hit shutout by Tiger junior right-hander Koreen Orozco (Whittier, Calif.) (14-9) in Game 2. Orozco recorded one strikeout, and did not walk or hit a batter.

Holy Family picked up an unearned run in the second inning. Nolan doubled with one out and advanced to third on an infield hit by Alina Ponce De Leon (Menifee, Calif.). Both runners moved up on a throwing error on the play.

The Tigers received a solo homer from Taylor Favinger (Deptford, N.J.) in the fourth inning, and tacked on a run in the sixth on Scotto's run-scoring single. Each team had five hits in the contest, with Duenas lining a double for Felician.
