Box Score NYACK, N.Y. – The Felician University women's lacrosse team set the program's single-game scoring record despite a 22-9 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to host Nyack College on Saturday afternoon at Moseley Field. Felician (0-7, 0-3), a third-year program, had tallied eight goals in a game on two occasions in 2017.
Felician redshirt sophomore Christianna Louzan (Manchester, N.J.) recorded personal season highs of four goals and five points. She also led the Golden Falcons with four draw controls. Freshman Malikah Croom (Plainsboro, N.J.) enjoyed a strong two-way effort with three goals, eight ground balls and four caused turnovers, and classmate Jashima Brathwaite (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) tallied twice for the visitors.
Nyack (2-7, 2-2) was paced by the duo of freshman Melissa Clapsaddle (Jacobus, Pa.) and senior Tori Silvers (Long Island City, N.Y.). Clapsaddle led the Warriors with seven goals and 15 draw controls, while Silvers was good for 15 points on six goals and nine assists while picking up five ground balls.
The Warriors never trailed, jumping out to a 3-0 lead after four minutes, 22 seconds of action. Felician quickly closed the gap as Louzan converted from the free position spot and Brathwaite scored off a feed from Emileigh Esposito (Beachwood, N.J.), the latter with 23:56 to go in the first half.
Felician trailed, 5-4, before goals 18 seconds apart by Nyack's Jocelin Wright (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Silvers put the hosts back up by three. Louzan struck again at the 14:07 mark to make it 7-5. The Warriors, however, ran off the final nine goals of the half, including five by Clapsaddle, to take a controlling 16-5 edge into intermission.
