Box Score ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – The Felician University women's lacrosse team came up on the short end of an 18-1 decision to host Dominican (N.Y.) College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference action on Saturday morning on the Dominican campus.
Dominican sophomore midfielder Jenna Fox (Stony Point, N.Y.) had a hand in more than half of her team's goals, registering three goals and seven assists. She also picked up five draw controls. Sophomore attack Alayna Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) recorded three goals, three assists and six draw controls for the Chargers (6-6, 5-1). Freshman Jashima Brathwaite (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) tallied the Felician goal.
The Chargers jumped out to a 5-0 lead after four minutes of action. Brathwaite put the Golden Falcons on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal at the 25:04 mark of the first half, but Dominican answered with a pair of Jenna Kelleher (Holbrook, N.Y.) scores. With 17:49 left in the opening period, the hosts forced running time by moving ahead, 11-1.
The Chargers led, 15-1, at halftime. Dominican scored on three of its five second half shots.
Brathwaite got off four of Felician's six shots. Golden Falcon freshman Emileigh Esposito (Beachwood, N.J.) collected two draw controls and a caused turnover, and sophomore goalkeeper Qamar Smith (Carteret, N.J.) had five saves and two ground balls.
Felician travels to the Jefferson Rams on Thursday for at 4:30 p.m. draw in Philadelphia.
