Box Score PHILADELPHIA – A fast start for the Jefferson Rams' (formerly Philadelphia University) women's lacrosse team turned into a quick 10-0 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference victory for the Rams over visiting Felician University on Thursday afternoon at Ravenhill field.
Jefferson (8-7, 7-1 CACC) scored on all but one of their 11 shots during a game which saw the brisk pace match the brisk temperature. The Rams featured nine different goal scorers.
Jefferson sophomore midfielder Sarah von Lange (Mariottsville, Md.) recorded two goals and five draw controls. Teammates Samantha Ryder (Perkasie, Pa.) (three draws) and Kathryn Avanzato (Lake Grove, N.Y.) each tallied one goal and three assists.
Freshman Jashima Brathwaite (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) got off the sole shot credited to Felician (0-12, 0-8). Ram goalkeeper Victoria Raimondi (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) made the save to earn the shutout. Brathwaite also had the Golden Falcons' only draw control.
Felician concludes its season by hosting Wilmington (Del.) University on Saturday. Seniors Antoinette Baisden (Elizabeth, N.J.) and Berlina Cebien (Union, N.J.) will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
