The hosts later used a two-run double by Kolbe Aven (Davie, Fla.) and Bryce Hazzard's (Valrico, Fla.) RBI single to post a five-spot in the frame.

A two-run homer by Daniel Irisarri (Miami, Fla.) capped a three-run second for NSU. Felician loaded the bases with one out in the third, but did not score. The visitors did pull to within 9-3 following Hall's two-run double in the sixth, but NSU took complete control with five runs in the bottom of the inning.

The Sharks homered five times in the contest. NSU starting pitcher Jeremy Cook (Weston, Fla.) (2-0) worked five innings, yielding an unearned run on three hits, while striking out nine batters and walking two. Felician hitters were fanned 14 times on the day.
