Box Score PARAMUS, N.J. – Felician University was defeated, 21-2, by visiting Georgian Court University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Paramus Catholic High School. The game concluded the 2022 season for Felician (3-12, 2-7 CACC).
Felician finished the seventh year in program history with school records for both overall and conference wins. Saturday's victory allowed Georgian Court (10-7, 9-0) to secure sole possession of the 2022 CACC regular-season championship.
Prior to the game, Felician honored its lone senior, midfielder/defender Emileigh Esposito (Beachwood, N.J./Toms River South) during a pregame Senior Day ceremony. Esposito's 47 career games played are the school record, and she will graduate second on the Golden Falcons' all-time list for caused turnovers (28) and third in ground balls (64). She had one of each on Saturday.
Sophomore midfielder Tala Marzooq (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) scored both Golden Falcon goals. Felician sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Bain (Hamilton, Ontario/Bishop Ryan) totaled 11 saves, six ground balls and two caused turnovers.
The Lions led, 10-1, after one quarter, and forced running time by tallying again 23 seconds into the second. GCU was ahead, 16-1 at halftime and 18-2 at the end of three periods.
Georgian Court piled up advantages up 35-10 in shots and 19-7 in draw controls. Six Lions enjoyed multi-goal games. Sophomore Remi Reinhardt (Wall, N.J./Wall) collected four goals, two assists, four draw controls and three caused turnovers. Senior teammate Heather Devaney (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) posted four goals and one assist.
GCU is the top seed and host for next week's CACC Championship tournament.
