Box Score WATERBURY, Conn. – Felician University redshirt sophomore defender Ivana Vasquez (Clifton, N.J.) scored her first collegiate goal during the Golden Falcons' 20-3 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women's lacrosse loss to host Post University on Tuesday afternoon at La Moy Field.
Vasquez, who was playing in her 18th career game, converted a free-position shot with 7 minutes, 27 seconds, remaining in the third period for Felician's final goal of the day. She also collected four ground balls, three caused turnovers and one draw control in the contest.
Sophomore Tala Marzooq (Ewing, N.J.) and freshman Melissa Amezquita (Paterson, N.J.) also scored for Felician (2-9, 1-4 CACC). Marzooq led the Golden Falcons with six ground balls and five draw controls.
Post (4-8, 3-2) jumped out to a 7-0 lead at the end of the first period. With 10:53 to play until halftime, the Eagles extended to a 10-0 edge, forcing running time. The hosts pushed their advantage to 13-0 before Marzooq found the cage with 0:01 showing on the second-quarter game clock.
The teams split the the game's four third-period goals before Post tallied five times during the fourth quarter for the final margin. Juniors Morgan Cassiliano (Staten Island, N.Y.) (one assist) and Molly Dobratz (Southington, Conn.) led the Eagles with four goals each.
Post outshot the Golden Falcons, 42-13. Felician sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Bain (Hamilton, Ontario) was credited with 14 saves.
Felician faces Holy Family University in CACC action on Friday at 6 p.m. in northeast Philadelphia.
