PHILADELPHIA – Fifth-year senior midfielder/defender Emileigh Esposito (Beachwood, N.J.) became the all-time leader in games played for the Felician University women's lacrosse program during the Golden Falcons' 21-1 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference loss to host Holy Family University on Friday evening at New Tiger Field.
Esposito was participating in her 44th career game as a Golden Falcon. She surpassed the 43 of Cassidy Charles from 2016-19 for the Felician record. Esposito scored the visitors' only goal on Friday.
The Tigers (4-8, 3-3 CACC) outshot Felician, 38-10, on Friday. Holy Family took control by scoring seven times during each of the first two periods, while yielding only Esposito's marker with 9:10 to play until halftime.
Senior Mackenzie Santucci (Columbus, N.J.) led HFU with seven points – six goals and one assist – and four ground balls. Felician sophomore Tala Marzooq (Ewing, N.J.) topped all players with eight draw controls.
Felician (2-10, 1-5) returns to Philadelphia on Wed., Apr. 13 for a 4:30 p.m. draw against Thomas Jefferson University.
