Box Score LAKEWOOD, NJ – Felician Women's Lacrosse started off its weekend with a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up with Georgian Court University to open up conference play. The green-and-gold went scoreless going into intermission to cage three in the second half to ultimately fall 21-3.
In the contest, the Golden Falcons were outshot 41-13, but had the advantage on the draw controls, 16-11 with Saoirse O'Connor (Newport, RI) securing 7 and Tala Marzooq (Ewing, NJ) had 6. Felician goalkeeper, Ilyanna Rivera (Waterford, CT) faced 28 shots saving seven of them.
After being shut out in the first half, Julia Ravazza (Dublin, CA) opened the Felician offense with a goal 3-minutes into the third quarter. Mary Gazaleh (East Windsor, NJ) would post Felician's second goal of the afternoon, also her second of the season. Almost two-minutes into the final stanza, Ravazza caged her second of the afternoon to give the Golden Falcons its final point of the contest.
After the loss, women's lacrosse is 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the CACC. They'll be back on the field next Wednesday to host Dominican (N.Y.) at Tryon Filed at noon.
