Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician women's lacrosse was back on their home field Wednesday afternoon for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match-up with North Division leaders, Dominican (N.Y.) University, at Tryon Field.
The Golden Falcons were able to score in each quarter but were not able to hold off the Chargers as the opposers dominated the hosts, 25-6. Dominican amassed 43 shots compared to Felician's 10.
Tala Marzooq (Ewing, NJ) paced the green-and-gold offense with three goals and seven draw controls. Mary Gazaleh (East Windsor, NJ), Janea Kelty (2 caused turnovers) (West Milford, NJ) and Julia Ravazza (Dublin, CA) had a goal each.
Mid-way through the first quarter, the Golden Falcons kept up with the Chargers as Marzooq and Kelty caged a goal to trail the opposers by 1. Eventually, Dominican quickly netted five to take the 8-2 lead to enter the second.
Ravazza sparked the second period with a goal, 8-3, from a Mia Bonner (Cherry Hill, NJ) pass. Felician would go scoreless for 6-minutes to allow the Chargers to extend their advantage to 10. Throughout the rest of the contest, Felician would score once per period to fall during their second conference game of the season, 25-6.
Women's lacrosse is now 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the CACC. They will be back in action next Tuesday, March 28, to face Bridgeport in Connecticut at 4:00pm
