Box Score PHILADELPHIA, PA – Felician women's lacrosse hit the road to play Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference opponents Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia, PA for a Saturday evening contest.
The Golden Falcons hung with the Griffins as they trailed by one, 6-5, as they entered the final stanza. The hosts would limit Felician to three goals in the fourth to rally four and handed the Golden Falcons the 11-8 conference loss.
By the end of the second quarter, the Golden Falcons were tied with its opposers as Tala Marzooq (Ewing, NJ), Saoirse O'Connor (Newport, RI), and Paige Merz (Ogdensburg, NY) put the green-and-gold on the board with a goal each.
Coming out of intermission, the Griffins would cage a quick goal while Julia Ravazza (Dublin, CA) would clinch her first goal of the evening to put Felician down by one. The freshman would score another free position goal to keep the squad in the running trailing 8-7, but the Griffins packed on three goals to hold an 11-7 lead. Marzooq secured the final goal of the contest, but with time running out, the scoreboard favored the hosts.
Ravazza and Marzooq recorded three goals each while Merz and O'Connor would have one. Ilyanna Rivera (Waterford, CT) would face 23 shots to save 12 of them in the evening.
The Golden Falcons dropped to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the CACC. They will be back at Tryon Field to host Alliance University on Wednesday at noon.
