Box Score PHILADELPHIA, PA – Women's Lacrosse is down to the home stretch of its 2023 season as the squad traveled to Philadelphia, PA to face Holy Family to fall 19-3 Tuesday evening.
Tala Marzooq (Ewing, NJ) and Julia Ravazza (Dublin, CA) were the only green-and-gold scorers as Marzooq caged two while Ravazza, one.
The Tigers got on the board with their first goal four minutes into regulation. Marzooq would tie it later in the first at one to have Holy Family cage two more for the 3-1 advantage going into the second quarter. The host rallied five goals until Ravazza halted the Tiger offense with a point of her own in an attempt to chip at the lead, 9-2.
In the first few minutes of the third quarter, the Golden Falcons trailed the Tigers by seven when Marzooq scored her and the team's final goal of the evening, 10-3. Ultimately, the Tigers would propel themselves to a 19-3 victory.
Kayla Fox (Surrey, British Columbia) clinched three caused turnovers with five groundballs while her sister, Mackenzie Fox (Surrey, British Columbia) had two caused turnovers and three groundballs. Current, CACC Defensive Player of the Week, Amanda Ramirez (Manchester, NJ) posted one caused turnover and three groundballs.
The Golden Falcons are now 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the CACC. Women's lacrosse will be back on the road this Saturday to face Wilmington (Del.) at 11:00am.
