Box Score 2 PALISADES PARK, NJ – Felician softball hosted Georgian Court University for a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Doubleheader at Palisades Park to fall 9-1 and 7-4 respectively.
GAME ONE (6-innings):
During game one, the Lions came out with heavy swings as they took the 5-1 lead after two innings. Felician's solo run was recorded by a Daisha Howard (Westbury, NY) sacrifice fly to send home Hannah Ramirez (Carson, CA).
The Lions shut out the hosts for the remainder of the game to ultimately pile on four more runs, handing the Golden Falcons the 9-1 defeat.
Ramirez went 2-3 with one run and Alexis Velotta (Menifee, CA) went 1-3.
GAME TWO:
In a battling game two, the Golden Falcons posted three runs in the bottom half of the first when Vienna Chierchia (Manalapan, NJ) and Mikayla Brown (Las Vegas, NV) recorded RBI at bats.
After the third inning, the green-and-gold held a 4-3 lead, however, the Lions grasped the 5-4 advantage after a two run fifth inning. By the end of the second contest, the Lions clinched a 7-4 win while Felician dropped twice for the first time in a conference doubleheader this season.
Chierchia went 3-4 with two runs and a RBI while Kathryn Steinmetz went 2-4 with one run.
The Golden Falcons are now 24-15 overall and 12-6 in the CACC. Softball will be back in action tomorrow to travel to Philadelphia, PA to face Chestnut Hill for a doubleheader starting at 2:00pm.
