Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician women's lacrosse hosted its senior day during a rainy Saturday morning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference contest versus Post University at Tryon Field. Tala Marzooq (Ewing, NJ), Raquel Vilas (East Brunswick, NJ), Janea Kelty (West Milford, NJ), Ivana Vasquez (Clifton, NJ), and Amanda Ramirez (Manchester, NJ) were among the seniors recognized.
The Golden Falcons entered the final stanza tied at 10 to be held to only one goal in the final stanza while the Eagles caged four, for the 15-11 loss.
To ignite the contest, the Eagles recorded 3 consecutive goals to hold a 3-0 advantage over the hosts. Marzooq and Saoirse O'Connor (Newport, RI) caged a goal apiece to enter the second quarter trailing 4-2. Between the second and third quarters, the green-and-gold recorded eight goals, six of them being in the third to ultimately tie the game at 10.
During the comeback third quarter, the Marzooq, Vilas, and Julia Ravazza (Dublin, CA) were the forefront of the six-goal rally for the 10-10 score.
Entering the final stanza, the Eagles were able to swing the momentum in their favor to cage four goals to edge Felician 14-10. Mia Bonner (Cherry Hill, NJ) netted a goal with 2-minutes left in the contest to have the Golden Falcons drop 15-11.
Marzooq led the offense with four goals and seven draw controls while Ravazza had three goals. O'Connor finished the afternoon with two goals and five draw controls. Defensively, Ramirez posted five caused turnovers with six groundballs and Kayla Fox (Surrey, British Columbia) had three caused turnovers and four groundballs.
Women's lacrosse finishes their season with a 3-11 overall and 2-8 CACC record.
