Box Score RUTHERFORD, NJ – Felician Women's Lacrosse clinched its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Confernece win of the season with a 20-3 win over Alliance University at Tryon Field in Rutherford.
The squad had 13 players record at least one goal in the contest as the Golden Falcons created a new record for most goals in a game with 20.
Julia Ravazza (Dublin, CA) had four goals and one assist while Janea Kelty (one assist) (West Milford, NJ), Mia Bonner (one assist) (Cherry Hill, NY), Paige Merz (two assists) (Ogdensburg, NY),and Tala Marzooq (Ewing, NJ) had two goals each. The freshman trio of Kayla Fox (Surrey, British Columbia), Mackenzie Fox (Surrey, British Columbia) and Gabby Sammarco (Morganville, NJ) recorded their first collegiate career goal on the win.
The green-and-gold jumped out in front 2 minutes into regulation as they extended their lead to 7-0 by the end of the first quarter. Alliance would record a goal in the second prior to intermission, but the Golden Falcons caged six more throughout for the 13-1 advantage.
Ultimately, Felician secured its first conference win to improve to 2-4 in the CACC and 2- 7 overall. Ilyanna Rivera (Waterford, CT) earned the win and Amanda Ramirez (Manchester, NJ) caused three turnovers with three groundballs.
Women's Lacrosse will be back in action next Tuesday, April 11, to travel to Philadelphia, PA against Holy Family for another CACC match-up at 4:00pm.
