Game Recap: #15 Baseball |

Felician Falls On Opening Day

West Palm Beach, FL: Felician battled through a tough contest, but ultimately fell 5-3 to Palm Beach Atlantic in a competitive match-up. The Golden Falcons fall to 0-1, in the three game series.

Inside the Box Score

The Golden Falcons managed to generate offense with five hits, pushing across three runs, but defensive miscues proved costly as they committed five errors. The team showed resilience, driving in runs during the fourth and eighth innings, but struggled to string together consistent offensive production.  The Golden Falcons will look to clean up their defensive play and build upon their strengths as they move forward in the series. Felician held the lead for much of the game, but saw it slip away late in the tough 5-3 loss. The Golden Falcons broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning, pushing across two runs to take an early advantage. Their pitching staff kept Palm Beach Atlantic's offense in check through the middle innings, maintaining a 2-1 lead heading into the eighth. However, a costly four-run rally by the Sail Fish in the bottom of the eighth proved to be the difference, as Felician was unable to mount a comeback in the final half inning.

Game Standouts

Haiden Walters was a key contributor at the plate, going 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, playing a pivotal role in Felician's offensive efforts. Ernesto Polanco also chipped in with a hit and an RBI, helping the team capitalize on limited scoring opportunities. Chris Corchado provided one of the team's extra-base hits, doubling to put himself in scoring position and keeping the pressure on Palm Beach Atlantic's pitching staff. On the mound, Logan Waltz delivered a strong start, working five innings while allowing just one earned run on five hits. He showed solid command, striking out three batters and limiting damage despite facing multiple base runners. Relievers, Bryan Rios and Collin Kratzer combined for the remaining innings, with Rios striking out two in 2.1 innings of work before Palm Beach Atlantic broke the game open with a four-run eighth inning.

Up Next
