Newark, DE – The Golden Falcons traveled to Wilmington University for a CACC doubleheader, where they fell in both contests. Felician dropped the first game 13-3 before engaging in a tightly contested battle in game two, ultimately falling 2-1 on a walk-off double.
Game One
Felician started strong, striking first in the opening inning and adding another run in the third to take an early lead. However, defensive struggles plagued the Golden Falcons, as five errors led to multiple unearned runs that allowed Wilmington to take control. The pitching staff battled through 7.2 innings, surrendering 13 total runs (five earned) on 11 hits, with three strikeouts and four walks. Offensively, Chris Corchado showcased his power with a solo home run in the third inning, while the team tallied eight total hits but struggled to capitalize, leaving 11 runners on base. Rocko Brzezniak led the lineup with a 3-for-4 performance, including a double and an RBI, while Christian Bauman added two hits in four at-bats. Jaxson Wall contributed with a double, a run scored, and a stolen base, but Wilmington's pitching held Felician scoreless after the fifth inning to seal the victory.
Game Two
Felician bounced back with a much more competitive effort in game two, ultimately dropping a 2-1 contest on a walk-off double. The Golden Falcons took the lead in the fifth inning, capitalizing on a Wilmington error. The offense recorded five hits and one walk, striking out just four times in 26 at-bats.On the mound, Logan Waltz delivered a standout performance, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings while allowing just four hits. Nathan Ruth followed with 1.0 shutout inning in relief before Gavin Enright took over in the final frame. Defensively, Felician played a much cleaner game, recording 20 putouts and eight assists.Five different Golden Falcons collected hits, with Chris Corchado, Rocko Brzezniak, and Christian Bauman each recording a single. Luis DeLaCruz and Matthew Scrivanic provided the team's only extra-base hits with a double each.
