Cary, NC - No. 15-ranked Felician University's historic 2025 season came to a close with a 6–2 loss to No. 4-ranked UT Tyler in an NCAA Division II College World Series elimination game at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, North Carolina. The Golden Falcons were unable to overcome a series of defensive miscues and timely hitting by the Patriots, despite showing flashes of offensive power and a strong effort on the mound. Felician ends the season with a 43–22 record and a Super Regional championship (first in school history), capping off the most successful campaign in program history.
Felician fell behind in the middle innings, surrendering one run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to give UT Tyler control. The Golden Falcons chipped away with a solo home run by
Luis DeLaCruz in the bottom of the fourth and added another run in the seventh, but were unable to generate rallies. UT Tyler added two insurance runs in the ninth, and despite several extra-base hits, Felician couldn't close the gap. Four defensive errors by the Golden Falcons played a critical role in the game's outcome, allowing the Patriots to extend innings and capitalize on extra opportunities.
Felician's two runs came on seven hits, including three doubles and one home run. The Golden Falcons drew one walk and struck out eight times. They went 1-for-5 with runners in scoring position and left six runners on base.Defensively, Felician recorded twenty-seven putouts and eleven assists, but committed four errors, which proved costly in extending UT Tyler's innings and driving in unearned runs. The infield turned two double plays, helping to limit further damage, but overall defensive miscues hurt the team's chances.
Luis DeLaCruz led Felician offensively, going 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a double, a walk, and one RBI.
Rocko Brzezniak added a double and scored a run, while
Jaxson Wall,
Chris Corchado, and
Andrew DeAngelis each contributed hits. On the mound, starter
Sadier Vicioso went 5.1 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits while striking out three.
Logan Waltz delivered 2.1 innings of scoreless relief, giving up just one hit and striking out two. Sophomore,
Gavin Enright, closed out the remaining 1.1 innings.
